Michel Atlan Eyewear is an independent eyewear brand and French eyewear designer specializing in luxury acetate eyewear and designer optical frames for boutique optical collections worldwide.
Born in Lyon, France, Michel Atlan developed an early passion for craftsmanship through fine woodworking. Trained under a renowned French ébéniste, he mastered precision cabinet making and developed a deep respect for materials, form, and detail.
At twenty, he moved to Los Angeles, where he joined his family in the fashion manufacturing industry. There, he helped develop a successful garment business, gaining extensive experience in design, production, and the international fashion market.
After many years in fashion, Michel returned to his original passion for craftsmanship. His handcrafted furniture and design work quickly attracted attention from creatives in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, known for its distinctive style and refinement.
This foundation naturally evolved into eyewear design. In 2008, Michel Atlan launched his first eyewear project, bringing his sculptural design language into optical frames through Eye of the Beholder Eyewear.
In 2010, he founded his signature brand, The M Collection by Michel Atlan, based in Los Angeles, blending French design sensibility with contemporary global fashion influences.
Today, Michel Atlan Eyewear continues to create distinctive collections defined by sculptural silhouettes, refined craftsmanship, and a strong design identity. The brand focuses on luxury acetate eyewear and designer optical frames distributed through a curated network of independent optical boutiques worldwide.
